I would like to thank everybody for their kind and generous thoughts and comments about being featured on Gardener’s World.  I hope that you all enjoyed it and maybe found some fresh insight or inspiration.

The filming took place in the second week of September on a really hot blue sky day.  I did not expect the film to be included in a programme until next year so it was a very pleasant surprise that it was on so soon.  My thanks go to the BBC team not only for the opportunity to show what we do here to a wider audience, but for making the experience so enjoyable.  So thanks to Jessica the researcher who did the ground work, Dave the sound engineer, airplane monitor and master of sticky tape, Shane for his excellent camerawork (grasses are really difficult to capture well) and Dick for his direction and masterful storytelling.  It was a pleasure to meet and work with Joe Swift who quickly put me at ease and supplied perfect conversational questions.

I genuinely feel that it is a privilege to be able to share my love of plants and gardening with you all and I look forward to being able to open the garden next year.  Please look out for the dates on our website and Facebook page in 2021.

Plants for sun, plants for shade, small plants, tall plants, scented plants, spiky plants, evergreen plants, unusual plants, plants for walls, plants for bogs, plants for clay, plants that sway, pink flowers, green flowers, purple berries, black leaves, yellow stems, all these & more.

The nursery is shut until 5th March 2021 or I will open by appointment

However, things will be a bit different – guidance says that the size of our sales area allows  up to 5 lots of customers in the nursery at a time so if we are busy you may be asked to wait for a while in the car park.

We ask that you shop with the maximum of one other person if possible and that customers keep 2m apart throughout the area and while queuing.

Trollies are available and we will wipe the handles with sanitiser between customers

Please can I have one person at the shed at a time to pay, maintaining social distancing and I would prefer electronic payment if possible. We have gel and wipes.

Unfortunately we will not be offering our usual courtesy tea/coffee while you browse and it may be difficult to look at garden pictures of problem areas, but I am sure we will find a way to help!

We look forward to seeing you!

The nursery is open every Friday, Saturday (10am-5pm), Sunday (10am-4pm) and Bank Holiday (10am-5pm) from the beginning of March to the end of September

I am happy to open by appointment – call 01708 371719, email or use the contact us page to make an appointment

Please note that we do not send plants to customers by post or delivery service.
